Great Sea Of Eternal Time

Into the great sea of eternal time

My soul is interwoven with yours, my love,

And the tribulations and trials and regrets and losses

Are all added up into the ineffable breath

Of being, whose purpose is sometimes glimpsed

As we feel the living process breathing through all the cosmos

At times when we gaze at the ocean, at the stars, or at a tree

Growing in our little garden, when all becomes clear

And the multiple multiphrenic meanings and experiences

Coalesce in mystery, transcending and resolving contradiction,

And we know that life is more than a muddling by,

More than mere survival, choices being more than manipulations

For restricted ends, as they partake of the grand plan -

Or perhaps, the huge struggle, the freedom and destiny of the universe,

The absolute of the inner imagination, love, triumph, and explosion of desire,

Knowledge that the guiding flame is more than apparent intentions,

Courage of the final cause being more than the world of appearance

Suggests: the moment in suspension between huge forces in conflict,

Being still, quiet, soft, loving and silent,

Yet heaving with immense anguish and massive strengths,

Searing through the air like love-blood notes,

Fire of an intensity whose meaning beacons then fades,

Leaving darkness and despair between its eruptions and flashes of bright truth.
